Meet Eric Senn, DO

Born and raised in Opelika, Alabama. Undergraduate from Samford University; medical degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Over 20 years of Emergency Medicine experience across Florida, Georgia and Alabama, including 16 years with East Alabama Health. Chief Resident in Columbus, Georgia. Medical Director of the Paramedic/EMT program at Southern Union State Community College. Teaches medical students at VCOM-Auburn.

Please note: Senn Medicine does not currently participate in Medicare as an opted-out provider. Therefore, Medicare beneficiaries are not eligible for membership.

Adult Membership $210 / month

Ages 18 and older. Also available as an annual membership at $2,520 per year.

AU Students: $125 per month.

Available to currently enrolled Auburn University or Southern Union students, including graduate and part-time students. We may ask for a valid student ID or other verification of current enrollment.

Graduates may continue the student rate through the end of the semester in which they graduate, then transition to a standard membership if they wish to continue care. A parent or family member may pay for a student’s membership; for students 18 and older, the student remains the patient and their medical information stays confidential unless they authorize otherwise.

For Auburn Students

A doctor away from home.

I’m an emergency physician here in Auburn, but I’m also an Auburn parent. My wife and I have one Auburn graduate, one current student, and hopefully two more coming behind them.

One thing I understand as a parent is how different it feels when your child is away at college and gets sick. You want them to have someone they can call who knows them, who will answer, and who can help figure out what actually needs to happen next.

Sometimes that means treating an illness or managing a medication. Other times it may just mean answering a question at 10:00 at night and reassuring them that something can wait until morning — or recognizing when it can’t.

I’m fortunate that my own kids are close to home. I know a lot of Auburn families don’t have that luxury, and I’d want their students cared for the same way I’d want someone to care for mine.

Do you accept insurance?

Senn Medicine does not bill insurance for any care services. Members pay a flat monthly fee.

Can I still use my insurance?

Yes. Insurance is encouraged to be used for services outside the practice such as specialist visits, imaging, or hospital care.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. Beginning January 1, 2026, qualifying Direct Primary Care membership fees may be paid using HSA funds. FSA eligibility may vary depending on your individual plan — we recommend confirming eligibility with your HSA/FSA administrator.

Do you accept Medicare?

No. Medicare beneficiaries are not eligible for membership.

Can I cancel my membership?

Membership may be discontinued at any time with appropriate notice.

Will Dr. Senn be my doctor in the ER?

Membership does not cover emergency care or hospital services, but members may contact Dr. Senn for guidance when urgent concerns arise. When available, Dr. Senn can help determine the appropriate next steps and provide context to ensure informed decisions. True medical emergencies should always be directed to 911.

What happens next?

Upon membership, you will receive a welcome email within 24 hours. You'll be given direct access to Dr. Senn by phone, text, and secure email. We'll schedule your first visit (virtual or in-person). You can reach out anytime for questions, concerns, or urgent issues.
